Fight the H1N1 Pandemic: Responding to Global Health Issues

This session will help you develop and implement strategies that will minimize the health and safety risks for your global workforce, including some valuable advice around the current pandemic, Influenza H1N1. As personnel travel to and from more remote destinations, it's inevitable that organizations will be exposed to more risks. While some events cannot be avoided, it is in an organization's best interest to have plans in place so they are keen on how to respond effectively. This session will utilize research and case studies to help you determine what strategies you can put in place to keep your global workforce healthy, safe and secure. By doing so, an organization will avoid failed international assignments, retain valuable employees, improve business productivity and fulfill duty of care obligations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand why understanding the importance of duty of care needs to appear on their radar screen and what solutions to implement to mitigate and meet those obligations.
  • Identify what role they can play in effectively responding to global health issues specifically infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis, and a pandemic
  • Know how other organizations are incorporating pre-assignment health programs that protect and support their global workforce
