The Business of Safety:
You Have the CEO's Attention: Now What?

YES! You have the CEO's attention! She or he appears in full agreement with your proposal to make changes to the safety program. You leave the CEO's office walking on air, because finally your words hit a cord. More than likely you presented facts and numbers that support your assertions using business language she or he fully embraces.

Good for you! ...Now what?

All too often the idea or presentation goes nowhere because simply getting support form the CEO on that all important meeting is only a small piece of the process. In fact, so much more has to be accomplished before meeting with the CEO than making the pitch. In business terms, "landing the deal is the easy part, follow through and implementation is the hard part". That needs to be as much a part of the pitch to the CEO as is raising the flag in the first place.

This session will define a communication process that will take you well beyond the CEO's help and ensure you have support throughout the organization. The journey you are about to embark on should not be viewed as yours'; rather the journey is that of the organization. Where to begin and how to get there?

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand why the CEO's support is important yet far from enough in creating change.
  • Deciphering who within the organization has the authority and leverage to help in the process of change.
  • Determining what strategies are needed for each of the different constituents within the organization to make this journey with you.
  • Develop SMART goals and tools.
  • Access fantastic and fun resources that will support an appropriate business approach to a number of future projects.
