Mood Lighting at the Hospital?
Using Lighting Design to Enhance
Patient Comfort

Often, patients, caregivers and visitors are all too aware of the lighting in medical facilities
– especially bad lighting. Lighting affects mood in big ways – and when you’re in a place 24/7
or for 12-hour shifts, the effects on your psyche can be huge.
The lighting in medical facilities is a key part of patient and staff comfort, not to mention
how it contributes to your environment of care. Just as quality lighting enhances patient
comfort and staff productivity, inferior lighting reduces comfort and productivity.
How can you tell the difference? How can you tell when you’ve got it right, and is it possible to
calculate the return on investment?
If you are ready to see how something as simple as the right lighting can reap big benefits for your
healthcare facility environment, sign up to hear lighting expert and electrical engineer Jack Schneider
present a riveting – even illuminating – accredited training session on using lighting design
specifically to enhance patient and staff comfort.
First, explore the key elements of quality lighting design. Then, learn how to apply these
principles to your own healthcare facility, combining newer technologies with proven methods of
lighting design to achieve the ultimate results.
Whether you’re retrofitting for energy efficiency or putting in new lights with new construction or a
major remodeling project, what are the strategies you can use to get the maximum benefit from your
lighting? And what are the actual physical and emotional effects of the lighting on the people
living, working and healing under those lights?
You have the opportunity to aid patients in their recovery and to increase employee
satisfaction and efficiency – literally with the flick of a switch. Sign up today to find out
