Benefits Planning: A Forward Thinking Approach to Taking Benefits Communications to the Next Level
The benefits world has changed. Have you?
With all the changes that health care reform and new financial legislation will bring, employees need more help making decisions about their benefits than ever before. Moving to a benefits planning program and away from the occasional benefits marketing communications offers employees the ongoing guidance they need in order to utilize their benefits in a way that can be incorporated into their overall financial plan. For the employer, this can minimize risks such as reducing liability and risk of expensive ERISA lawsuits and avoid short term costs of financial stress and long term costs of employees being unable to retire. With the trend of passing costs and responsibilities of benefits to employees, benefits planning enables them to make better decisions that actually increase their wealth over the long term.
Learning Objectives:
- Benefits planning vs. benefits communications – and what the differences mean for your company.
- How does the current open enrollment structure leave employees more vulnerable now than ever before? Is that something employers should worry about and address?
- Benefits beyond reducing legal liability – using the benefits package to reduce turnover, limit unionization, and improve morale.
- What are the specific liabilities and risks you should be looking to reduce – and what are the strategies for doing that?
- Real life case studies of how benefits planning works in action!
- The new best practices for benefits planning.
